About Vector

Vector is for the CS student who enrolled without a direction and still doesn't have one. We're building the thing that turns that into a field to aim at and a plan to get there.

Why we started

Four years of a degree, and the question of what to actually do with it never gets asked directly. Students arrive at CS on the belief that it pays, pick electives by rumour, and take advice from seniors who are guessing too. The advice layer around the degree is horoscope-grade — a quiz, a verdict, no working.

Nobody is confused about the degree. They're confused about the direction.

So we started with the part everyone skips: asking properly, and then not stopping at the answer.

What we do

• We start with real questions. Written with psychiatrists, so what you sit through is an instrument, not a personality quiz off Instagram.
• We show you where you fit. You'll see the field you named next to the one your answers point at, and the answers we got it from.
• We hand you a roadmap that already works. A real public roadmap for that field — the one people in it actually use.
• Your roadmap adapts to you. It opens up where you're stuck and trims what you've already got, as you go.

On what we don't author

We don't write curriculum. Roadmaps come from established public sources and we name the source. Our work is the fit and the adaptation — reshaping a good roadmap around one person — not a rewrite of material that's already good.

On what you see

Every result we show points at the answers it came from. A verdict you can't trace back to your own words isn't one we'll ship.

Nothing we show you about yourself is permanent, either. A fit is dated, and it moves as you do — your plan changes over a week, the bigger picture changes slower than that. Stamped at signup and fixed for good, it would be the same horoscope with better typography.
